Als ich mit meinen Malsachen die Spanische Treppe oben angekommen war, bot sich mir dieser herrliche Ausblick über die Stadt. Der Tag war noch jung und so fing ich die Morgenstimmung von Rom ein.
Quando ero venuto con le mie cose di pittura il gradino spagnolo su cima, questa vista meravigliosa sulla città si è avvicinata a me. Il giorno è stato ancora giovane e così ho preso l’umore del mattino di Roma.
When I had come with my painting things the Spanish stair on top, this marvellous view about the town came up to me. The day was still young and thus I caught the morning mood of Rome.
